Prof. Alaa Sheta

Prof. Alaa Sheta, Professor of Information Technology and Computer Science at Nile University, is a leading expert in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and intelligent algorithms. He earned his PhD in Information Technology from George Mason University, USA (1997) after completing his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Cairo University.

His research has been funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and international research agencies. He has authored and co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, three books, and six book chapters, and supervised over 30 MSc and PhD theses. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and an associate editor of international scientific journals. His research interests include machine learning, data mining, image processing, deep learning, and robotics.
